Review Me - AlphaDog - 25-02-2009 08:07 PM I am working on a new proboards skin and want some critique before i get too involved with it. It is only the second skin i have done so its taking me a bit of time. I have a feeling it will be a case of "marmite" you will love it or hate it. I have tried to do something original, something i have never seen done with a proboards forum before, which is where it could fail, not everyone likes change. Like i said, a long way to go but some feedback would be nice so i can make some changes at this early stage. http://www.design-studio.proboards.com Thanks RE: Review Me - Samuel - 25-02-2009 09:41 PM I absolutely love the design, its very original. I did notice some problems which you may have already noticed, which is a few pages(generally ones with forms) stretch the overall design (These Pages I have noticed: Register, Modify Profile, Reply, New Thread/Poll). I would suggest making this design fluid, which would combat the problems above. Also, from helping you, I know there is a better way the actual design could have been coded. I love the design though, keep working on it! Don't give up xD Make sure you PM me when your finished(or if you need any help)
RE: Review Me - Charles Stover - 26-02-2009 02:50 AM Wow. I never thought about recoding it entirely. What would happen if you put <!-- in the main header and --> in the main footer? Does ProBoards block that? Sounds like it would kick ass. RE: Review Me - AlphaDog - 26-02-2009 08:11 AM lol not what i expected. I had no intention of posting my board anywhere yet incase my idea got ripped, but after seeing some of the harsh reviews given here i thought i would, a harsh review was just what i needed. You fail me ![]() but really, thanks very much.So any offers of coding help I have no idea about coding, i am simply copy and pasting codes into my headers and footers. I will give full coding recognition to your self on the site. I need to do the obvious first, resize the forms, if possible, plus a million other things. If you are interested in giving me a hand let me know, i really need it![]() thanks again RE: Review Me - Michael - 26-02-2009 04:44 PM Looks really good. Love the idea...
RE: Review Me - ElseAndrew - 02-03-2009 02:00 PM I love the concept behind this, I mean... It looks nothign like a proboards setup great work AD! You have great creativity good work buddy. I would like to see a better design behind it but for now it looks awesome. RE: Review Me - Kami - 03-03-2009 08:06 AM sexeh. design could be better, graphically, but sexeh indeed. not too fond of the members online as is, perhaps shorter height wise, and made to fit the width of the table cell it's in? RE: Review Me - ElseAndrew - 03-03-2009 09:54 AM I agree, the info center is abit bland. With the correct mods and design this could be one hell of a forum. RE: Review Me - AlphaDog - 03-03-2009 03:04 PM The info center is still being tested, so the board is changing all the time. I am not sure what the info center looked like when you viewed it but i have updated this morning, still not sure if i like it yet though. Thanks for the feedback so far, as you all like it so much i expect you all to join when it is launched
RE: Review Me - ElseAndrew - 03-03-2009 03:50 PM It was a simple <td> with some information in it ![]() <table border="1"> <tr> <td> User's Online ........ More Info ...... </td> </tr> </table> And it even had the ugly looking HTML style border
RE: Review Me - Wedge - 03-03-2009 06:03 PM Ah, leave me alone. I filled it as per request, and it didn't work with some of his other codes; hence the new info center. RE: Review Me - AlphaDog - 03-03-2009 07:11 PM Wedge you did a mighty fine job, don't listen to them
RE: Review Me - Kami - 03-03-2009 09:00 PM Aw, I didn't mean anything by it. =] It looks great, and I can't even tell it's a PB if I don't look at the URL! RE: Review Me - ElseAndrew - 03-03-2009 11:44 PM Yeah it dont look like proboards at all... It looks like a custom build. Its great and all just could do with some tweaks
RE: Review Me - AlphaDog - 08-03-2009 12:15 PM just to update: i am going straight to V2 I have been playing with the layout and just can't get it to look how i want, i am re designing the whole thing, same idea though
RE: Review Me - solexowenus - 30-07-2010 05:51 AM I had no intention of posting my skateboard around again Incase my idea has been ripped off, but after seeing some of the harsh comments given here, I thought I could, a severe examination was just what I needed. You do meDodgySmile but really, thank you very much. |
