Hey guy,

A few weeks ago I saw the notice about loss of service at the end of this month.

So I transfered a few thousand images over to another image service to save them.

Is that still happening?

Quote:This is a notice to alert the users of wImg of a change in the service that we are providing. Reasons for this change are undisclosed and will not be disclosed at any point. Towards the end of September, wImg will cease to continue hosting of images and files. The date for this is currently unknown but is under discussion currently. We will not be backing up any user data or information, you will be required to download any data that you may require.

wImg will continue normal operations until the date of the 25th September. On that date, all uploading facilities will be taken offline. Termination of the wImg server will take place towards the latter part of September, with no definite date available at this time.

With the closure of wImg, we will of course be allowing outside investors or companies to purchase the wImg domain and coding. Currently we are not able to guarantee the retention of user data because we cannot confirm that we are going to have an investor/purchaser, or that they will invest/purchase wImg at the right time of September.

Any and all advertisers who have outstanding balances with wImg that are less than a month in length remaining at the end of the month will not be refunded. If however, you have outstanding duration of your advertising of 30 days or more, we will refund you the sufficient amount for that unused advertising time.

If there are any users or people that wish to discuss any part of this with me, or propose a price for take-over can do so by going to our contact page and emailing us. Otherwise, you can open a thread on our support forum for further discussion. Note: Any requests for information regarding the reasons for the closure will be ignored.

My advanced apologies for any inconvenience that this causes.

Kind Regards,

wImg needs to have a better way for there users to Organize there Uploads. My Uploads are all out of order and it always sooooo hard to go and try to find an image from long ago.

Maybe consider allowing users to place there images in tabs? Like folders where you can customize the name and group the images that fit with the tab title. I know I would use it!

http://wimg.co.uk/iKR.bmp

I went to make a thread on my forum. I added in the link above and put the [IMG][/IMG] tags around it. When I posted the thread everything showed up, except for the image. Nothing appeared except for a gap where it should have been.

Michael,

When I click 'view uploads', it takes longer to load, as when before, it loaded instantly. It also loads slower than I go to a different page (when viewing uploads).

Is this caused by all the images I've uploaded?

Browser: FF

Well I was modifying a file earlier today. I was not done so I came back to finish modifying it and when going to wImg I usually just type a portion of the url such as just wImg into the address bar and a list of sites matching that will be in the drop down and I will click it. Well http://wimg.co.uk/modify.php?file=somefilehere was in with the drop down also and I accidentally clicked it. Come to find out the file now has nothing in it. It was not super important file but I did not have it saved on my computer so now I have to retype it all. Has this page always saved to the history or is it a setting that was changed in FF to have caused this. It would be nice to know how to prevent this in the future from happening.
