First time Robot Building

I have browsed the web on Robot building. However I know nothing about electronics. I mean nothing about building Robot. I am wondering if anyone has any suggestions about a good book that would teach me all the basics. Also a suggestion on a kit to help me build my first robot. I was thinking maybe a Sumo robot since I'm a first timer. Any help is greatly appreciated.
